Audiovision brings premium audio and hi-fi brands to South Africa across speakers, amplifiers and home cinema. See what's worth buying and check for live deals.

Audiovision

You want home audio that actually sounds rich and detailed, but hi-fi gear in South Africa usually comes at import markups that make the hobby feel expensive before you even start.

That's what Audiovision addresses — real audio brands at prices that don't require a second mortgage.

What they do

Audiovision is a South African hi-fi and home audio stockist carrying speakers, amplifiers, turntables and home cinema components from established audio brands. Stock is available in-store and through audiovision.co.za, with a focus on delivering audio gear at local pricing rather than import pricing.

The model revolves around matching customers with audio that suits their room, budget and listening tastes. Whether you're upgrading from cheap speakers, setting up a living room sound system, or diving into vinyl, it's worth seeing what deals are currently happening in Electronics, Games & Gadgets on The Real Deal.

What to look at first

If you're exploring Audiovision, these are the natural starting points.

Living-room Speakers

Passive and active speakers designed for lounge and bedroom setups.
Best for: upgrading from average stock speakers to something that actually reveals detail in music.

Home Cinema and Soundbars

Audio solutions optimized for TV and home cinema.
Best for: watching films and games with sound that matches the screen.

Turntables and Vinyl Gear

Record players and associated components for serious collectors.
Best for: people building a vinyl collection with sound quality worth the hobby.

Headphones and Portable Audio

Quality headphone options for personal listening.
Best for: commuters and home listeners who want better sound in a portable form.

Amplifiers and Components

Standalone amps and separates for custom audio builds.

Simple way to think about it:
If you want better room sound, start with speakers.
If you love vinyl, browse turntables and supporting gear first.

What makes them different

Hi-fi in South Africa tends to split into two camps — either mass-market budget speakers from supermarkets or specialty boutique gear at prices that only serious audiophiles can justify. Audiovision sits in the middle with recognized audio brands that sound genuinely better than budget options but don't require collector-level spend.

The other thing that sets Audiovision apart is the listening environment. Audio is personal — what sounds warm to one listener sounds dull to another. Audiovision maintains a demo space where you can hear speakers and systems in an actual room rather than reading specs online. That matters because speakers sound completely different in a living room than they do in a warehouse.

The practical bit

Shipping: Available across South Africa via audiovision.co.za with options shown at checkout.

Final word

This is for you if:

• You want audio that sounds better than average without entry-level audiophile spend.
• You prefer testing gear in a demo space before committing.
• You're building a home audio system and want a full-service stockist.

Probably not for you if:

• You only care about the cheapest possible option.
• You're hunting ultra-rare or collector-grade audio equipment.

If home sound quality matters to you and you want local access to real audio brands, Audiovision is worth the visit. Before you buy, take a second to see if there are any live Audiovision deals running on The Real Deal.

FAQ

Is Audiovision worth it?

Audiovision suits shoppers after TVs, home theatre and audio gear who want a Cape Town specialist rather than a generalist retailer, and it's worth checking when a RealRank verified deal lines up with the model you want. The trade-off is a narrower range than a big-box electronics chain, so it pays to compare the deal before buying.
