Born Fabulous Review South Africa | Stokke & Baby Gear Deals

A straight look at Born Fabulous: the Stokke and BeSafe importer, what to buy first, delivery costs, who it suits, and when to check for deals.

Born Fabulous

If you have been pricing a Tripp Trapp high chair or a YOYO stroller, you have probably ended up on Born Fabulous at some point. Many of the baby shops that stock these brands get them through the same local importer.

Buying from them direct gets you the whole range, including the small spares and add-ons that baby shops do not always keep on the shelf.

What they do

Born Fabulous has been going since 2010 and is the official importer and distributor for several baby brands in South Africa and the wider region. That includes Stokke, BeSafe, AeroMoov, AeroSleep, Qtus, Babocush and Belly Bandit. The shop also sells Babyzen and local brand Tobbie & Co.

The shop is organised by where you use the product: in the car, at the table, in the nursery and on the move, plus a pregnancy and newborn section. It also lists the retailers that carry its brands, if you want to see something in person first.

For deal hunting, Born Fabulous belongs in Babies & Toys on The Real Deal.

What to look at first

High Chairs

Stokke Tripp Trapp, Clikk, Nomi and Steps, plus baby sets, newborn sets and cushions. The Tripp Trapp is the one most parents come for, and the add-ons are sold separately.
Best for: a chair that grows with your child.

Strollers

Stokke YOYO and Xplory, Qtus and travel options, with rain covers, cup holders and seat packs. The YOYO3 was listed just under R8,000 at the time of writing.
Best for: parents who travel or fly a lot.

Car Seats

BeSafe infant seats, toddler and booster seats and ISOFix bases. Check fit for your car before ordering, because car seats with opened packaging cannot be returned.
Best for: safety-first buyers who want a known brand.

Nursery and Sleep

Stokke Sleepi cots, the MuTable play table, Snoozi bags and AeroSleep mattresses, plus spare parts for older Stokke furniture.
Best for: setting up a nursery that lasts past the baby stage.

Pregnancy and Newborn

Belly Bandit support wear, C-section recovery products and the Babocush comfort cushion.
Best for: late pregnancy and the first weeks at home.

Simple way to think about it

If you already know you want a Stokke or BeSafe product, Born Fabulous is the obvious place to check the full range and the matching accessories. It also helps if you need a spare part rather than a whole new product.

If you are still deciding between brands, a baby store that stocks several makers might be a better first stop. This shop only carries the brands it imports.

When you have narrowed it down, compare any Born Fabulous deals on The Real Deal with what you have seen elsewhere.

What makes Born Fabulous different

Here you are buying from the importer itself. That means the complete range, colour options and spares in one place, and support that runs through the official distributor rather than a third party.

It does not mean the lowest price. These brands sit at the higher end of baby gear, and the same products can show up at other baby stores, so it pays to compare.

The practical bit

Shipping: Free within South Africa on orders over R1,000. Below that, fees depend on the province, from R95 in Gauteng up to R180 in places like the Free State and Limpopo.
Delivery: The policy gives 3 to 5 working days. They also ship to Botswana and Namibia, with a much higher free-delivery threshold there, and do not deliver to P.O. boxes.
Returns: 30 days for unused items in sealed original packaging, arranged by email first. Sale items, used items and car seats with opened packaging are excluded.
Support: Help is available through bornfabulous.co.za, where you can also book a product consultation.

Who it’s for

This is for you if:

• You have your heart set on Stokke, BeSafe or AeroMoov
• You need accessories or spares for gear you already own
• You want advice from the official distributor
• You are buying a bigger baby gift

Probably not for you if:

• You want to compare many baby brands in one order
• You are shopping on a tight budget
• You want to try a car seat in the box before deciding

Final word

Born Fabulous is the direct route to a handful of well-known baby brands. It is most useful once you have picked the product and want the full set of extras with it. Check the return rules on car seats before ordering.
